Alexandre Illan's journey in perfumery began in Grasse, where he trained as a junior perfumer at the Mane In House Perfumery School. Joining Symrise in 2018, Illan's curiosity and passion for both natural and synthetic raw materials have defined his approach. His philosophy embraces perfumery as an expressive canvas, where he creates both tangible and abstract compositions to evoke deep emotions.

Illan's unique style is evident in his diverse portfolio, including collaborations with small brands like Der Duft and large-scale projects such as the provocative Rammstein fragrances. Known for his innovative use of contrasting elements, Illan’s creations often blend unconventional notes to challenge and surprise. His work, ranging from the raw, animalic scents for Rammstein to the delicate accords for Chantal Thomass, showcases his versatility and imaginative spirit in the world of fragrance.
