Gaël Montero
Gaël Montero’s path to becoming a distinguished perfumer began at Montpellier University, where he pursued a degree in perfumery. His fascination with the intricate balance between artistry and science set the foundation for a career marked by curiosity and innovation. Early internships provided Gaël with essential skills, which he further developed under the mentorship of Jordi Fernandez at Givaudan in Barcelona. This experience enabled him to experiment extensively and solidify his understanding of fragrance ingredients before continuing his studies at Givaudan Perfumery School in Paris.
Currently based in Dubai, Gaël draws inspiration from the Middle Eastern preference for woody fragrances while integrating his affinity for musks. His creations, such as the celebrated Madurai for Memo Paris, are a testament to his ability to blend diverse cultural influences. Gaël’s unique approach involves a deep connection with raw materials and emotional intuition, resulting in fragrances that are both personally expressive and culturally resonant. His work embodies a dynamic fusion of art, science, and cultural dialogue, capturing the essence of his Franco-Spanish heritage and global experiences.
