Jean-Claude Ellena

Jean-Claude Ellena, a pivotal figure in the perfume world, was born in Grasse, France, into a legacy of fragrance artistry. Starting his career as an apprentice at his father’s perfumery, he honed his skills at the Givaudan perfume school and became a chief perfumer there. Founding The Different Company and later becoming Hermès’ in-house perfumer, Ellena’s minimalist approach to fragrance composition has set him apart.
