Laurent Le Guernec

Laurent Le Guernec

Laurent Le Guernec, born near Paris in January 1967, embodies a unique fusion of French tradition and American innovation in perfumery. With a formative childhood surrounded by fragrance flacons in Grasse, Le Guernec’s path to becoming a distinguished perfumer was influenced by his mother, grandmother, and grandfather's artistry. His studies at the University of Paris and the Institut Superieur International de Parfums, Cosmetiques et Arômes Alimentaires (ISIPCA) honed his craft, while his tenure at Laboratoire Monique Remy deepened his mastery of natural raw materials, especially floral notes.

In 1991, Le Guernec transitioned to the U.S., working with Fragrance Resources and learning from renowned mentors like Pierre Bourdon and Jean Claude Elena. His work with Mane resulted in iconic scents such as Michael by Michael Kors. Now at International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), he continues to create bright, crisp fragrances, merging meticulous French craftsmanship with contemporary American flair.
