Mathieu Nardin
Mathieu Nardin, a prominent French perfumer from Grasse, was immersed in the world of fragrance from a young age. Growing up in a family of perfumers, Nardin's childhood was filled with the scents of jasmine, roses, and mimosa. This early exposure cultivated a deep appreciation for raw materials, which he views as central to his craft. After completing his baccalauréat in chemistry, Nardin pursued formal training at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles and refined his skills through an apprenticeship at Robertet, a renowned fragrance house based in Grasse.
Nardin's career took a significant turn when he moved to New York in 2013, where he developed a distinctive creative style influenced by the city’s vibrant cultural and artistic scene. His work at Mane, which began in 2018, is marked by a fusion of traditional techniques with innovative approaches. Known for his sophisticated use of spicy and complex notes, Nardin's creations, such as Jacquard for Etro and Vetiver Insolent for Miller Harris, showcase his ability to blend storytelling with scent. His passion for travel and sensory exploration continues to inspire his unique and evocative fragrances.
