Nanako Ogi
Nanako Ogi, a distinguished Japanese perfumer, channels her deep-rooted connection to nature into her fragrance creations. Raised in Japan’s serene landscapes of rice fields and forests, Nanako’s early fascination with natural scents laid the foundation for her unique career. Although perfumes were not a part of her childhood, her intense curiosity about scents was a constant. This passion was first recognized during her anthropology studies at university when a friend suggested she explore perfumery. Embracing this advice, she ventured to the United States to pursue her dream, earning a degree in chemistry and gaining a decade of experience in the fragrance industry.
In 2017, Nanako began her career as a perfumer in Dubai and later relocated to Singapore. Her work is renowned for its harmonious blend of cultural elements, particularly the integration of the Japanese Kodo ceremony—a ritualistic burning of various woods—with the Omani frankincense ceremony. This synthesis creates a fragrance experience that embodies the elegance of Japanese traditions alongside the rich, aromatic complexity of Omani influences. Nanako’s creations are deeply influenced by her emotional responses to everyday life, translating these feelings into evocative and beautifully crafted scents.
