Richard Herpin, born and raised in Cannes, France, developed a profound appreciation for aesthetics surrounded by antiques in his father's shop. This deep-seated love for fine things and the memorable scents of precious woods ignited his passion for perfumery. Mentored by master perfumer Pierre Bourdon, Herpin honed his craft by focusing on capturing the essence of a fragrance and leaving aside unnecessary details. His approach is rooted in spontaneity and emotional resonance, akin to improvising music, reflecting his belief that perfume is never the same for any two people and constantly evolves with wear.

Herpin's illustrious career with Firmenich has seen him create both mainstream successes like Lady Gaga Fame and niche masterpieces for Tom Ford and Van Cleef & Arpels. His signature style blends different music genres, crafting harmonious, emotionally charged fragrances. Co-founding Precious Liquid with his wife Geo, Herpin expresses individuality through pure, fresh, and clean scents, showcasing his exceptional talent and deep connection to the art of perfumery.
